Shaping the Next Generation of Business Leaders: Advancing PRME and the SDGs in Curriculum (E)

Stream: Demonstrating Leadership in Sustainability

Join Conestoga College School of Business Chair Amy Gleiser and PRME Coordinator Anna Hohenadel in a Campfire discussion about incorporating PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) and the SDGs into the curriculum and strategic vision of a School. PRME is an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact that seeks to embed responsible management education and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across over 800 signatory business schools worldwide. The School of Business was one of the first Canadian Colleges to become a signatory to PRME in November 2020 and the first Canadian College to publish a comprehensive Sharing Information on Progress Report demonstrating progress made in its first two years in 2022. In 2023, the School of Business was selected to join the PRME Champions and will contribute to thought and action leadership surrounding responsible management education and the SDGs. This Campfire will provide lessons learned from this implementation as well as tools and advice for other institutions looking to advance PRME or those interested in becoming a signatory. Amy will also share insights from her newly developed PRME Micro-credential for faculty to implement PRME and the SDGs within their curriculum – the first of its kind in North America – as part of her PhD research. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in discussions, and take part in interactive exercises. The School of Business hopes to inspire others through its leadership and build a network of colleges working together to advance PRME.
