A Cross-Functional Team-Approach to HyFlex Delivery (E)

Track: Charting Teaching & Learning

Siloed departments. Stalled-out ideas. Flash-in-the-pan initiatives. Low employee engagement. Do any of this sound familiar? To prepare for the unknown in a potentially changing 2021-22 academic year, CNC, a small community college in northern BC, started to offer courses through a HyFlex model of delivery to better accommodate emerging student needs. While HyFlex delivery may seem like a technology-solution, those tasked with implementing the model at CNC saw it as a business-solution and intentionally built a high-performing cross-functional team to envision, design, implement, and evaluate HyFlex. This fireside session will include multiple voices from the HyFlex project who will speak to the collaborative approach that was taken to successfully deliver HyFlex, and the potential of this working model for other initiatives. Included in this session will be sharing of lessons learned and next steps to take, a question-and-response time, participant sharing, and mini breakout discussions meant to help each participant identify how they could initiate or improve HyFlex at their institution.
