Ollivier Dyens is a full professor in the Department of French Literature, Translation and Creation at McGill University, where he held the position of Deputy Provost of Student Life and Learning from 2013 to 2018. He is also the founder and co-director of the Building 21 innovation laboratory (building21.ca). From 2008 to 2013, he served as Vice-Provost for Teaching and Learning at Concordia University.
Ollivier Dyens holds a doctorate in comparative literature from the Université de Montréal. He is the author of 13 books, including La terreur et le sublime (published by Éditions XYZ), La Condition inhumaine (Éditions Flammarion) and Metal and Flesh: The Evolution of Man - Technology Takes Over (MIT Press).
Ollivier Dyens served on Quebec's Conseil supérieur de l’éducation (2011-2015) and the Commission de l’enseignement et de la recherche universitaires (2015-2016).
