Ollivier Dyens is a full professor in the Department of French language literature, translation and creation at McGill University, where he was Deputy Provost of Student Life and Learning from 2013 to 2018. He is also founder and co-director of the innovation laboratory Building 21 (building21.ca). Between 2008 and 2013, he was Vice-Provost of Teaching and Learning at Concordia University.
Ollivier Dyens has a PhD in comparative literature from the Université de Montréal and has written thirteen books, including La terreur et le sublime published by Éditions XYZ, La Condition inhumaine published by Éditions Flammarion, and Metal and Flesh: The Evolution of Man, Technology Takes Over published by MIT Press.
Ollivier Dyens was also a member of the Conseil Supérieur de l’Éducation from 2011 to 2105 and the Commission de l’enseignement et de la recherche universitaires (2015-2016).
