Natasja Saranchuk’s higher education career has been largely focused on faculty development and enhancing the use of educational technologies. Natasja currently manages the Teaching Service unit at NAIT where she leads teams that are responsible for mandatory instructor training, curriculum development and quality assurance processes, enhancing instructional leadership, supporting educational technology in curriculum and instruction, and for the development and support of work-integrated learning. She has studied online learning communities in credit programs and in faculty training to better understand what leads to student success and faculty engagement. She is also interested in strategies to support professional growth by understanding how instructors gain pedagogical content knowledge, especially in relation to utilizing educational technologies to enhance their instruction. She has been involved in projects and initiatives using technology at many different levels in the organization that encourage efficiency, innovation, and creativity. Her latest work with her team focuses on how to increase blended learning opportunities at NAIT in order to provide flexibility, transform the student learning experience, and incorporate best pedagogical practices that shape student success.
