Joanna Amirault is an Associate Dean in the Faculty of Social and Community Services at Humber College. She joined the FSCS community in the Fall of 2014 as a faculty member in the Bachelor of Social Science – Criminal Justice program, and took on the Program Coordinator role in 2016. Having completed her Ph.D in the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University in 2014, Joanna has engaged in a wide range of scholarly activity investigating the impact of criminalizing terrorism specific offenses on sentencing outcomes, risk assessment for unique offending populations, and desistence from crime. She is currently working with a team from Humber to investigate the impact of the Toronto Police Service’s enhanced neighbourhood officer program.
