Unlocking Maori Potential – Pathways into Employment (E)

May 7, 2019 | 15:30 - 16:15

Location: Peller A
Track: Leading Success

LIFT Social Enterprise is taking a business approach to supporting the most excluded and disadvantaged young unemployed Maori (Indigenous people) into employment and self-employment in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Using innovative approaches to connect with and engage young people, LIFT leverages commercial business relationships to unlock sustainable employment opportunities, while ensuring appropriate education and training supports are in place.

And with the fast-changing labour market and uncertainty of future job prospects, enterprise development and self-employment opportunities are also a core service delivery focus for young people through LIFT.

Come along and hear about the practical approaches LIFT takes to service design and delivery to achieve the best possible outcomes for young Indigenous job seekers in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Leave the session with key insights on how to apply these ideas into services that your own workplace or organisation designs and delivers.
