The future of student services: A conversation about research and leadership with CACUSS and CICan (E)

May 5, 2019 | 14:45 - 16:45

Track: Thought Forums

What does research tell us about college student services in Canada? What are the needs of our students? What programs are serving those needs, and what is missing? How effectively are we leading student services into the future? This session will begin with a presentation from the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS) about its role and the new Student Services Competency Model and Research Agenda. A series of panelists will explore two broad topics – the current state of college student services research in Canada, and the leadership needed to guide student services to address the future needs of our students. The audience will be engaged in group discussions and brainstorm ideas and recommendations. Leaders from CACUSS and CICan will then respond to the ideas generated by participants.
