Sustainable Happiness and Living Campus (E/SI)

May 4, 2020 | 09:30 - 10:30

Location: 513 DEF
Track: Embodying Sustainability

There is growing concern about the levels of negative stress experienced by both students and staff within educational institutions. There is also a growing desire to integrate sustainable practices into our daily lives. Today’s institutes of higher education are comprised of the most socially conscientious youth ever surveyed and they want to act now. How can we address the two issues of well-being and action, simultaneously on a College campus? Sustainable Happiness is a pioneering program that explores personal health, positive psychology and sustainability principals and actions through the unique filter of the “cost” of one’s happiness. This journey explores a simple yet profound connection between personal happiness, the happiness of others and the health of the planet (well-being for all) through a living campus platform.

This session will include both individual and group activities. The links between the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, and the personal and professional well-being of post-secondary educational institution employees, students and the local community will be explored together.
