Track: Going Global

International student recruitment is a challenging and continually evolving field. The number of International students studying in Canada has increased over 150% since 2010, and these students now come from over 100 countries. In this context of exponential growth, public institutions are faced with student flow fluctuations and need to adapt to the rapid changes in communications technology.

Having institutional representation in our major source markets that students, partners and visa offices can reach is becoming essential. Institutions employ diverse approaches for achieving this representation. Some have international student recruitment staff based out of their Canadian locations covering specific regions, some use representatives based in the recruiting regions, others have opened wholly owned offices in key markets. Many use a mix of these models. Presenters will learn tips for establishing, engaging, and managing remote international recruitment teams.
