In what ways is the Collective Intelligence of employers, faculty and students informing new and innovative solutions to problems that hamper each stakeholder? Mohawk College recently launched the Future Ready Premium Program, which brings together these stakeholders, plus a local tech start-up, to address local skills gaps. The program involves (a) new ground-breaking partnerships with 10 local employers, who will each receive a customized talent pipeline blueprint, access to highly trained grads, and a unique co-branding campaign with the college, and (b) the introduction of a student micro-credential to enhance skills employers are looking for, including enhanced career development, job search, and networking opportunities. This session will share the details of this program, including the process undertaken to develop it, and engage audience members in a pragmatic self-evaluation of their institutions current state of their student career support programs and employer partnerships Finally, the session will provide a platform for sharing of best practices among audience members, including insights from Mohawk’s employer, faculty and student stakeholders.
