May 4, 2020 | 14:00 - 15:00

Location: 513 DEF
Track: Embodying Sustainability

This presentation will highlight the results of a global design action research collaboration between Georgian College in Canada, Halmstad University in Sweden and Ghent University in Belgium. The goal of the research was to test a new design interface and new inquiry method to the Flourishing (Strongly Sustainable) Business Model Canvas. The questions being asked related to exploring what might be a human centred, systemic design approach to Sustainable Business Model Innovation and how might we explore the variety of collaborative modelling modes in designing Strongly Sustainable (Flourishing) enterprises? The research presented, was conducted with the support of the Strategic Innovation Lab at OCAD University for the advancement of tools and methods for leaders working with the Flourishing Enterprise Innovation Toolkit and Flourishing Business Canvas. The role of the Strategic Innovation Lab in working with these tools is to develop a community of global practitioners and academics whose efforts focus on the design of flourishing enterprises; businesses and organizations that are socially beneficial, environmentally regenerative and financially viable.
