Making evaluations using a cell phone and data to orient academic success in the visual arts (E/SI)
May 5, 2020 | 10:15 - 11:15Location: 512 A-G
Track: Wiring for Student Success
This innovative digital educational project is a team effort whereby we wanted to improve the ergonomics of evaluating and providing feedback using a creative approach, so that the students working towards their DEC in the visual arts can refer to one single point of contact to find all the relevant documents for their observational drawing class on Léa (Omnivox). We were able to put into practice a simple method, using accessible and popular Google applications, in order to use diverse digital platforms (cell phone, tablet or computer) in such a way as to personalize the evaluation method, organize data archiving efficiently and share visual feedback (in the blink of an eye) with the student in order to drive their success.
The session will enable participants to explore and take ownership of the accessible and transferable tools and strategies across a wide variety of settings and uses. The session will close with a sharing of common technical and educational issues. This sharing process will be based on the educational tool, and is a case in point.
