Keeping your Boat Afloat During an Electoral Storm: a survival guide to government relations before, during and after an election (E)

Track: Thought Forums

The federal election this fall comes at a time of political turbulence in many provinces and territories. Elections put government relations strategies to the test: How do you keep your agenda on track with a government that is unlikely to survive? How do you engage with the party leading in the polls? What rules of the road apply during the campaign? And how do you build – and rebuild – great relationships after the ballots are counted?

You are invited to join colleagues from across the country to trade stories, strategies and lessons learned the hard way. CICan’s own “political panel” will dissect the experience of two provincial campaigns, and provide colour commentary on how evolving federal-provincial dynamics are affecting the post-secondary sector.
