Global Skills – The value of outbound student mobility programs (E/SI)

April 25, 2022 | 10:00 - 12:00

Location: Room 603/604
Track: Connection Activity

This session will begin with a Panel discussion that will focus on the benefits of outbound student mobility programs to PSIs and students, exploring experiences from our peer nations (Erasmus program – Europe, the New Colombo Plan – Australia, 100 thousand strong – the USA, etc.). It will feature the new Canadian pilot program, Global Skills Opportunity, and its objective to make international learning more accessible, especially to underrepresented Canadians.

Participants will then be invited to break into small groups to answer questions about international partnership development to support outbound mobility programs. Discussion topics: identifying and qualifying partners abroad, risk identification and mitigation strategies, wraparound services, and work-integrated learning in the context of SDGs (global solutions for global problems).
