May 5, 2020 | 11:30 - 12:30

Location: 511 DEF
Track: Wiring for Student Success

Bow Valley College has developed a strategic partnership with Ametros Learning to develop training modules using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Ametros Learning is a company focused on “building competence and confidence through authentic practice”. Bow Valley College is developing a framework for assessing prior learning, identifying gaps and using AI training modules to address the gaps. In addition to developing and delivering courses, we are also assessing and validating prior learning. As a first step in this strategic partnership, Learner Success Services at Bow Valley College undertook the challenge of developing training simulations for responding to sexual violence disclosures and supporting mental health concerns. _x000D_
This session will provide participants with an overview of the process we took while developing these modules, including successes and challenges experienced while implementing AI to reinforce helping skills in a college community. Opportunities and promising practices for AI on campus shared and participants will be engaged with the AI.
