Conducting Research Responsibly: Tools for Everyone! (F/SI)

April 27, 2021 | 3:15 - 4:00

Track: Driving Innovation

Collège La Cité and the Association pour la recherche au collégial (ARC) have jointly developed a guide to good practices and an accompanying tutorial in ethics and the responsible conduct of research at college level, which were released on January 29, 2021. Based on the Tri-Agency Framework and the Tri-Council Policy Statement 2 (2018), the guide provides research administrators and researchers with quick information on the key principles outlined in these documents and on their roles and responsibilities in research. The guide also provides policy templates and a glossary. The tutorial has been designed to support the training of researchers. These tools are available free of charge in both of Canada’s official languages on the platform. The objective is to foster a culture based on responsible conduct and ethics in research within the Canadian college and institute system, in addition to providing the targeted individuals with tools that are adapted to the reality of this community. Team members will present their input to the project and the steps taken in the consultation process to members of the ARC, Ontario colleges and members of Colleges and Institutes Canada.
