Collaborating for Greater Impact: The Move Toward Net-Zero (B/SI)
April 26, 2022 | 12:45 - 1:45Location: Room 106/107
Track: Mapping Sustainability
Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time. It is impacting our students and institutions in real time, through extreme weather, displacement and migration, impacts to mental health, and more. Coordination and collaboration at all scales is required to support our students, make our institutions more resilient, and meet our national carbon targets. Approaching climate action as a competition is not going to work.
For the past two years, eight institutions within the CICan network have been collaborating to reduce our collective greenhouse gas emissions and map out ways to share resources with CICan members. There are so many ways for institutions to have impact. Whether it’s incorporating climate action education into the student learning experience, making small projects carbon neutral, or making institution-wide carbon neutrality goals – all are important contributions. Join us for a fireside chat for a conversation about collaborating for impact.
This session will be provided in both English and French.
