Accelerating Climate Action: Drawing on the Collective Experience of Colleges and Institutes in Ontario (E/SI)

May 4, 2020 | 14:00 - 15:00

Location: 513 DEF
Track: Embodying Sustainability

Mitigation and adaptation to climate change will require leadership by public institutions such as colleges and institutes in Canada that can lead through research, training and academics, and operations.

The Campus Carbon Management Initiative (CCMI), a program of the Centre for Climate Change Management at Mohawk College, works to support post-secondary institutions to accelerate climate action by providing resources based on best practices and user-focused solutions. The CCMI worked with 22 colleges in Ontario to identify common barriers to climate action in colleges and institutes; then it developed free tools and resources to help institutions overcome these challenges to accelerate the reduction of their greenhouse gas emissions.

This presentation will provide an interactive discuss leveraging the CCMI’s flagship project: The Campus Carbon Management toolkit – a free online hub of climate-related resources designed for colleges and institutes.
